The Opportunity:
Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for you to join the Edinburgh Configuration Management Team. Experience in Configuration Management is preferable but not essential, as we would consider applicants with a Manufacturing background who would like to move into this Configuration role.
In this exciting role, you will learn, develop and enhance your configuration management and data control skills in assisting in the solution of real-life engineering problems on state-of-the-art projects.
What you will do as a Configuration Engineer:
In the role, you will learn and develop Configuration skills and knowledge for use in the full product lifecycle: from requirements analysis; through design, procurement and manufacturing; to delivery to the customer and onwards into in-service support.
You will be working closely with supportive, talented and innovative engineers from a range of disciplines, providing them with Configuration Management support and advising them on Configuration best practice.
As a Configuration Engineer, you will be trained to operate in the Configuration Engineer role which will include both Documentation and Hardware.
DOCUMENTATION
1. Review and verify documentation is suitable for progressing based on the set guidelines
2. Manage the approval process of new documentation
3. Manage the processing of updates to existing documentation
4. Record, distribute and control the documentation received from internal/external parties
HARDWARE
1. Managing the processing of Problem Reports from initiation to final disposition
2. Managing Trials Modifications to support Problem Report investigations and ensuring results of trials are captured
3. Managing the processing of Change Requests from initiation to final disposition
4. Collating the Change Impact assessments from TRB (Technical Review Boards)
5. Supporting the Change Initiator and Technical Review Board (TRB) through consultation
6. Determining if fast track criteria is met and route Change using the Fast-Track workflow
7. Preparing agenda, calling and chairing the CRB (Configuration Review Boards)
8. Setting POE (Point Of Embodiment) & Priority if changes for implementation
9. Determining Change Classification based on set criteria
10. Implement, Planning and Co-ordination into both the design and physical product
What we need from you:
We are looking for a candidate who has experience in a Configuration Engineering role and experience in carrying out the above activities.
We would consider applicants with a minimum of five years in a Manufacturing background who would like to move into this Configuration role.
The role will be initially on site for initial onboarding and training, after which the role will be hybrid (on site and working from home). Depending on the allocated project security aspects, some work will be required to be carried out on site.
