We are looking to appoint a committed and highly motivated Practice Manager to join our team at Prospect Medical Group.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the practice, driving growth and sustainability in line with NHS policies and developments.
The Practice Manager is a key member of the team and is expected to help and support the team in achieving goals and targets, motivating the team and to delegate where necessary. They must be able to be a trusted representative for the practice in the wider health care system in which the practice operates. You should have proven HR and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The main role of the post is to manage, coordinate and oversee all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and financial performance and ensuring the practice achieves its long-term objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
The ideal candidate needs to be highly organised with experience of leading and managing a team. The candidate must have excellent communication, HR, IT and financial management skills. Experience working within a similar healthcare setting is preferred. Previous leadership and management experience is essential.
Through innovative ways of working, lead the team in promoting continuous improvement, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development, and ensure the practice complies with CQC regulations.

Prospect Medical Group is a long established, friendly and forward-thinking GP practice in the west end of Newcastle Upon Tyne based in modern single site premises. We have 6 GP partners who employ 2 salaried GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses, 3 Healthcare Assistants as well as a team of dedicated and supportive administrative staff. We currently have a patient list size of around 15,000. We are highly involved in our PCN (Inner West Newcastle) and through this we benefit from pharmacists, physiotherapists, psychology, paramedics, a nurse associate, mental health workers and social prescribers who also work for the practice.

Job responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Management of the day-to-day operations of the practice, including Strategic Management and Planning
2. HR and Workforce Management.
3. Ensure employment law and legislation is adhered to
4. Board Member of Inner West Primary Care Network
5. Provide support and advice to the partnership.
6. Keep up to date with developments and changes within primary care.
7. Finance Lead on payroll and pensions, ensuring accurate reporting and submissions.
8. Maximise income and reduce expenditure.
9. Ensure Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and commissioned service targets are met.
10. Manage the significant event and complaints processes, in line with current legislation and guidance.
11. Manage contracts and maintenance for services and equipment.
12. Oversee the review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
13. Lead and coordinate projects within the practice.
14. Oversee the management of the practice IT system, including compliance with the Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
15. Coordinate the practice development plan and business continuity plan.

17. Ensure on-going CQC compliance.
18. Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its NHSE contractual obligations.
19. Provide advice and support to the staff and the partnership to ensure effective team working.
