An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ward clerk on A8 ward, at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, (Warrington Site).
Ward A8 is a busy, fast-paced general medical ward.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise their own workload, and work well as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with previous clerical experience.
You must have an excellent telephone manner when speaking to relatives and other healthcare professionals via the telephone and be extremely vigilant in passing on important/confidential information to the relevant members of staff.
You must be able to organise your own workload ensuring all duties are completed within a reasonable time frame.
Offer support to the ward manager in delivering on key targets for care.
You will be preparing notes and chasing notes from different departments to ensure they are available for the patient coming in for surgery. This can be on short notice due to ever-increasing demands and changes/cancellations/additions to theatre lists.
You must ensure patient follow-up appointments are booked in a timely manner.
