HSEQ Auditor - Major Projects - Old Oak Common - London
About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Auditor to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London - join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2's new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK's best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
As a HSEQ Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring the Old Oak Common Project has a comprehensive risk-based audit process embedded to verify compliance of both BBVS and Supply Chain parties to legislative, corporate and contract requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of HSEQ requirements (including statutory and contract).
* Support Audit Manager with development and maintenance of a risk-based audit schedule for HSEQ ISO compliance and to verify compliance of both BBVS and Supply Chain parties to legislative, JV partner corporate and Contract requirements.
* Arrange and manage Internal and supply chain audits (including producing reports and supporting close out of findings) of the BBVS functions and the supply chain to meet the annual audit schedule.
* Co-ordinate and manage external audits including those from JV partners, client, certification bodies and other interested parties (including supporting close out of findings).
* Assist with investigations, with respect to quality incidents, to determine the facts and root causes including issuing reports and associated recommendations.

* Internal auditor (ISO 9001) Qualified.
* Self-confident with the ability to build strong relationships with the project team members, suppliers, client representatives, and other stakeholders.
* Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts, make appropriate judgements, and act accordingly without undue delay.
* Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion.
* Can communicate effectively (orally and written).
* Ability to influence others including senior management.
* Can demonstrate initiative and resilience.
* Acts professionally, both independently and collaboratively, with others.
* Has an enquiring and questioning approach.
* Good time management.
* Use of Word and Excel to an intermediate level (demonstrate in a skills test).
* An aptitude for IT deployment.
