Reception SEN Teaching Assistant Required – Blackpool (FY1) Are you passionate about supporting young learners with additional needs? Do you have experience in early years education and working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackpool. This rewarding role involves working 1:1 with a child in Reception who has suspected ASC, helping them to navigate the classroom environment and access their learning fully. Role Overview: Position : Reception SEN Teaching Assistant Location : Blackpool Start Date : ASAP Working Hours : Full-time, term time only Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child in Reception with suspected ASC. Assist the pupil in engaging with class activities and promoting their social and emotional development. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). Use strategies to manage behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure the pupil’s progress and well-being. What We’re Looking For: Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the school team. A commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all learners.
