As the business continues to expand, they are looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to oversee facilities operations and drive improvements across their in-house engineering and contractor teams. This role is central to ensuring the efficient management of both soft and hard services, with a strong focus on compliance, cost control, and service delivery.
The Role
This is an office-based role, working closely with senior management and operations teams to optimise technical services. The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for:
* Team Development: Building and managing an in-house engineering team to support day-to-day facilities functions.
* Operational Support: Advising senior management on all aspects of facilities management, including best practices and compliance requirements.
* Contract & Supplier Management: Leading tender processes, contract negotiations, and ensuring effective procurement for all maintenance and supplier agreements.
* Technical Oversight: Reviewing contractor proposals, M&E designs, and installation plans to align with project requirements.
* Financial & Cost Control: Ensuring budgets are adhered to, identifying potential cost savings, and managing spend across service contracts.
* Regulatory Compliance: Keeping the team updated on legislative changes and ensuring adherence to safety and building regulations.
* Project Management: Overseeing fit-outs, refurbishments, and infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time, cost-effective delivery.
* Performance Monitoring: Tracking contractor service levels, verifying completed work, and ensuring all maintenance activities meet agreed SLAs.
Candidate Profile
* Technical Expertise: Background in property, mechanical, electrical, or hard services within a commercial or industrial environment.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of H&S regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Procurement & Tendering: Experience in managing procurement processes, contractor selection, and CDM regulations.
* M&E Knowledge: Familiarity with British Standards, CIBSE guides, and M&E design best practices.
* Problem Solver: Ability to assess technical issues, engage with manufacturers, and provide solutions across multiple projects.
* Budget & Cost Control: Experience in financial planning, budget management, and cost-saving initiatives.
* Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use asset management and procurement software.
* Stakeholder Management: Confident working with internal teams, external consultants, and subcontractors.
