About the Role:
The University is seeking an experienced Cloud Analyst to join their IT infrastructure team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of cloud solutions to support the University’s digital transformation strategy. You will work closely with internal teams to help deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions, ensuring the university’s cloud environments are robust and well-integrated into existing IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cloud Infrastructure Management:
* Design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions using platforms such as AWS. Experience with Azure, or Google Cloud a plus.
* Ensure optimal configuration, scaling, and performance of cloud resources.
* Conduct cloud cost management and optimization activities to ensure efficient use of resources and cost-effective solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
* Work closely with internal stakeholders including faculty, IT teams, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver cloud-based solutions.
* Assist in developing cloud migration strategies and roadmaps.
* Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that cloud solutions adhere to data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR.
Cloud Security and Governance:
* Ensure that cloud resources are configured with best practices for security, monitoring, and compliance.
* Implement access controls, backup, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard cloud environments.
* Monitor cloud environments for vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions as needed.
Automation and Optimization:
* Support the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud resource provisioning and management.
* Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-effectiveness.
* Manage cloud service configurations and infrastructure upgrades/patches.
Support & Troubleshooting:
* Provide second-line support for cloud-based services and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure.
* Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team, documenting solutions, best practices, and cloud processes.
Key Requirements
Experience & Skills:
* Cloud Experience:
* Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
* Proven experience in cloud infrastructure management, including deploying, scaling, and managing cloud resources.
* Hands-on experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation ) and CI/CD pipelines.
Technical Skills:
* Experience with cloud security practices and tools, including IAM, VPC, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and other security controls.
* Familiarity with networking concepts and how they apply to cloud environments (e.g., VPN, VPC peering, Load Balancers ).
* Solid understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments and administration in the cloud.
* Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures .
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
* Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues quickly in cloud environments.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
Certifications (Ideal but not required):
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
* Google Professional Cloud Architect
* HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
* Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
