Job summary Recruiting two Locum Consultants for General Medicine/Elderly Care on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. We are looking to recruit two full-time Locum Consultants on a General Medicine ward. Candidates with a CCT or CESR in General medicine are encouraged to apply. Those working towards the CESR qualification who already have experience working at consultant level are encouraged to contact the department to discuss other options. We are also keen to develop and support colleagues' professional clinical areas of sub-speciality such as Elderly Care, Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Endocrinology etc. The postholder will be supported to develop their leadership skills by the appropriate training provided by our trust leadership and development programme. The postholder will have access to a leadership mentor if supernumerary to leadership. Ward rounds and teaching and supervision of junior medical staff. To assist the current team and have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to provide a high quality of General Medicine care to patients by continual development of practice in the light of evidence-base, and clinical standards. To provide clinical support and teaching to Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and Postgraduate Medical Education. To participate as part of personal CPD development the involvement in local and national quality improvement projects. The department will provide training support if required. Research opportunities are available in conjunction with the research team. To have responsibility for ensuring a commitment to maintaining a high quality of service to patients. To actively participate in CPD and personal development plans and annual appraisals revalidation framework.
