Senior Management Accountant - Bournemouth

The opportunity:
TeamJobs is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant for a fantastic company based in Bournemouth. Working with the company's new finance system, your role will be to complete accurate management accounts, including the review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all processes and account preparations are completed in an accurate and timely manner and providing an accurate monthly detailed account of the company's performance. You will also be responsible for preparing the year end accounts, ensuring compliance at all times.
Your role will include:
Timely monthly preparation and production of Management Accounts, ensuring all anomalies are investigated and resolved and escalating any potential impacts promptly.
Leading and managing the accounts payable, receivables and reconciliations teams, providing effective management, leadership and motivation
Managing the production of commercially viable, detailed, Revenue and Expenditure Budgets and models, and effectively communicating the expected impact on areas of the business.
Reviewing and signing off balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring that all financial records are accurately maintained
Producing a regular cash flow, using this to determine where to invest cash balances in line with the company's investment strategy
Quarterly Board Reports - Prepare and contribute to reports to Board and ad-hoc Committees, as required
Creating presentation packs for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other key managers to make informed and strategic business decisions
Managing the production of commercially viable, detailed, revenue and expenditure budgets and models, and communicating the expected impact on parts of the business
Responsibility for the company's quarterly VAT return, ensuring accurate adherence to HM Customs and Excise legislation
Preparing the year end accounts workbook for submission to external auditors and supporting the external audit process
Skills & Experience:
ACCA / CIMA Qualified
Highly numerate and analytical
Strong organisation skills
Highly proficient in Excel
Solid experience of producing accurate Management Accounts on time
A well-rounded exposure of the entire accounts function
Strong people management / coaching experience
Good knowledge of accounting and reporting systems e.g. Xledger, Power BI
A strong understanding of the financial accounting side of a business, including VAT, Tax, Gift Aid and Bank Reconciliations
