We have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Female* to work as a Bank Support Worker including weekends. Candidate must have a full clean driving licence in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear area.
We are seeking a female support worker who is enthusiastic and proactive, to support a mature lady with a brain injury in the Newcastle upon Tyne area, both within her own home and local community.
You will assist with providing support with her rehabilitation programme and increasing independence, ensuring that you adhere to her routines. You will also support her with personal relationships and her leisure activities.
As required, you will work with other team members to support the client with family contact and any of her holidays, which may be abroad. All training and supervision will be provided.
What you'll be working:
* This is a bank support worker position
* Location - Newcastle upon Tyne
Hours: Bank position including weekends.
Salary: £13 per hour (weekdays); £14.04 per hour (weekends); £9.35 per hour sleep-in shift; double time on bank holidays
What you will be doing:
* To work with a woman with disabilities within her own home and within the local community.
* To be responsible to the client via the Team Leader and Case Manager.
* To provide assistance and support as directed by the Team Leader and Case Manager.
* To help the client participate in recreational and leisure activities.
* To provide any personal care as required.
* To provide nutritional meals for the client as directed by her.
* To act as a driver for the client as necessary.
* To accompany the client in the community.
* To be flexible in hours of work to satisfy the client's requirements.
* To accompany the client on holidays and weekends away when required.
* To carry out domestic duties in the client's house.
* To undertake training and supervision as agreed by the Case Manager.
* To liaise closely with any other professionals as directed by the Team Leader and / or Case Manager.
* To work within agreed care techniques and strategies documented in the care plan.
* To work alongside the client's therapists and assist with agreed rehabilitation strategies and techniques.
* To ensure client confidentiality in all matters relating to the client.
* Any other appropriate and reasonable task in relation to the employment as agreed with the client, Team Leader and /or Case Manager.
About you:
Essential
* you are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion

* you are flexible and you work well under pressure
* you have a full, clean UK driving licence and are confident to drive the client's automatic car.
* you can work within agreed care techniques and strategies documented in the care plan.
Preferred
* you have experience of supporting someone with a brain injury.
