We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join Allegiant Finance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and recording the company’s financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK financial regulations. Key Responsibilities Financial Records Management: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. Process sales invoices, receipts, and payments. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining FCA compliance at all times. Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable. Prepare cash flow statements and profit-and-loss sheets. Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns. Assist in preparing tax returns for the Inland Revenue. Reporting & Communication: Collaborate with accountants to prepare financial reports. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and banking contacts regarding financial matters. Payroll Administration: Handle payroll processing as required. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience in a bookkeeping role (minimum of 2 years preferred). Strong understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications AAT or equivalent bookkeeping qualification. Familiarity with UK tax regulations and VAT processes. Experience of working in an FCA or other regulated business. Working Hours & Benefits Full-time position although we would consider part-time options. Standard office hours (Monday to Friday) working within a hybrid model.
