We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join Allegiant Finance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and recording the company’s financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK financial regulations. Key Responsibilities Financial Records Management: • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. • Process purchase invoices, receipts, and payments. • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining FCA compliance at all times. Accounts Management: • Manage accounts payable and receivable. Tax Compliance: • Assist in preparing VAT returns. • Assist in preparing tax returns for the Inland Revenue. Reporting & Communication: • Collaborate with accountants to prepare financial reports. • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and banking contacts regarding financial matters. Payroll Administration: • Handle payroll processing as required. • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations. Qualifications & Skills • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role (minimum of 2 years preferred). • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping. • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). • Excellent numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • AAT or equivalent bookkeeping qualification. • Familiarity with UK tax regulations and VAT processes. • Experience of working in an FCA or other regulated business. Working Hours & Benefits • Full-time position although we would consider part-time options. • Standard office hours (Monday to Friday) working within a hybrid model. • Competitive salary based on experience (£28,000–£30,000 per annum). • Opportunities for professional development within a supportive team environment.
