Role: Female Support Worker Here at Cartrefi Cymru we support adults with learning disabilities and vulnerable adults in the community to live a fulfilled and enriched life. We want to work with the best people with the best skills and who demonstrates our values to: Be “remarkable every day” Location: Llanfairfechan LL33 0BN Hours: Part time 25 hours per week, typical shift patterns include: all day and sleep in - 08:00-10:00 start – 23:00 sleep in Day shift – 08:00-10:00 start – 19:00 Tuesday / Wednesdays vary 08:00-18:00 and a 14:45-23:00 sleep in. This role includes 1 sleep in shift on average per week, possibility more. This might not be every week and would vary week on week depending on the needs of the service. Salary: £12.14 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night. If you use your own vehicle to attend training for example, we cover milage at 45p per mile. What you’ll be doing: In this role you’ll be supporting older adults to develop skills and independence in their home and in their community. You’ll be supporting individuals with learning disability, mental ill-health, autism, limited verbal communication, dysphagia and physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy. The role will involve personal care. One individual enjoys activities in the community such as going to the zoo and other similar venues, going on trains and buses etc and is very sociable and enjoys trips to the pub, and trying new activities. One individual prefers time at home and their own comforts – magazines, TV and enjoys pamper days. Does enjoy going out for food and some light shopping occasionally. This really is a fun and rewarding role Who we're looking for: We'd love to hear from you if you: have patience and empathy can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity have strong communication and teamwork skills are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning are female, essential for the needs of the service. The ability to drive is essential for this role as you’ll be driving the people we support own cars.
