Role: Business Development Manager - Chromatography
Location: North of England region & work from home

Russell Taylor Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager in the North of England. This opportunity is open to individuals with chromatography experience (GC, LC, etc.) looking to transition from the lab to a sales position or seasoned BDMs with experience in the chromatography marketplace.
You must be willing to travel 2-3 times a week, with the remainder of the week working from home. Travel will be in the region of Newcastle to just below the Manchester area.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and business growth within the chromatography sector.
2. Identify, target, and acquire new customers.
3. Manage and expand relationships with existing customers, key decision-makers, and influencers to increase sales and customer retention.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
5. Generate new leads through networking, industry events, cold calling, and digital channels.
6. Re-engage with dormant accounts.
7. Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business expansion.
8. Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and provide actionable insights for the business.
9. Identify opportunities early in the sales cycle.
10. Deliver business development-related presentations.
11. Represent the company at industry meetings to promote company services.
12. Follow up in a timely manner on quotations.
13. Qualifying, relationship building, needs evaluation, solution development/presentation, and closing.
14. Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added, and accurate call/visit logs are entered.
The Person:
1. Previous experience of Chromatography in a laboratory setting with aptitude to work in sales roles or previous technical experience in selling chromatography products/services.
2. Must reside in the North of England area.
3. Willingness to travel around the North of England 2-3 times a week.
4. Flexibility to represent the company at exhibitions and events.
5. Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
7. Effective communication skills - both written and verbal.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills.
9. UK Driving licence.
