Teaching Personnel, the UK’s market-leading education recruitment agency, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a specialist school in Poole. This full-time role involves working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, starting January.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their emotions.
* Assist the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive behaviour and academic progress.
* Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, focusing on individual learning needs.
* Help implement behaviour management strategies and social development plans.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support student well-being and growth.

* Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs is preferred but not essential.
* A caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in their learning.
