The Built Environment and Mineral Surveyors Team (BEAMS) at the Valuation Office Agency has an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join the highly enthusiastic and energetic team supporting operational delivery and the Senior Leadership and Development managers.
Our team comprises of development managers, chartered surveyors in specialist Minerals and Built environment disciplines, surveying technicians, apprentice team members, graduates and researchers.��
The BEAMS team offers specialist surveying services across government on a range of professional and technical Services. Our work offers variety as we are responsible for the delivery of surveying and valuation services on a range of specialist properties classes.
Job description
Operations, Development and Support Lead �� Role Overview
As a BEAMS Operations, Development and Support Lead, you will predominately work in the Other Public Bodies (OPB) and National Taxation (NT) functions. The role will compliment and work alongside the Revaluation and Non-Domestic Ratings (NDR) Functions Support Lead.�
The role has line management responsibilities, and the successful candidate will play an active role in supporting the development of their team within our specialist disciplines. The postholder will support the senior leadership roles in the delivery of key operational business targets, support with casework and project delivery and collate project date to inform senior leadership on operational delivery team performance.
This role provides a great development opportunity offering diverse and varied workload and where the successful candidate will be able to use their own initiative to shape the role. You will be involved in exciting agency and team related projects and are provided with in role development relating to work delivery, reporting and financial planning using agency IT platforms and reporting tools.
BEAMS is a national team and travel to other locations will be required on occasions.�
Operations, Development and Support Lead �� Key responsibilities
1. Line Management and motivate a team, including an active role in their development through knowledge sharing and upskilling, performance management, succession planning and applying HR policies.
2. Working Closely with and providing Support to the Head of BEAMS and Team Leaders with on strategic business and operational functions.
3. Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, including managing receipt of information to support the BEAMS operations.
4. Responsibility for BEAMS co-ordination and collation of casework activity data that will be used by the Senior Leader Team (SLT) to manage work and team performance.
5. Analyse data and produce financial reports on a regular basis, presenting the findings to the SLT.
6. To maintain work monitors and ensure it is always up to date with new received casework requests.
7. Maintain and improve current work systems, tools and processes relevant to the BEAMS business function.
8. Responsibility for coordinating and managing the maintenance of the BEAMS Strategic work monitors, Inboxes and updating SharePoint and intranet pages.

17. Work related experience in operational delivery, business management, HR or finance.
