OverviewAn exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a trained and experienced DBT therapist to join our innovative multi-disciplinary team. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated DBT Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting children in their mental health journey, providing therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique needs. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Associated Wellbeing is an ever-growing company with a number of CQC and Ofsted registered homes. The Lighthouse in Darwen, Lancashire provides a step-down from tier 4 child and adolescent mental health inpatient hospitals. We are in a privileged position to have our own inhouse multi-disciplinary team made up of Nurses, Consultant Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapist and Registered Social Worker. You will be fully supported and supervised by our Consultant Psychologist in this role. Duties Conduct initial assessments and develop individualised treatment plans based on client needs and goals. Provide one-on-one DBT sessions with the children assessed as being ready for this support. Run a regular DBT skills group. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards. Collaborate with our MDT to ensure a holistic approach to client care. Stay updated on best practices in the field of mental health and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications A recorded/ professional qualification in the area of mental health/ learning disability nursing, social work, counselling or psychological therapy. DBT training and experience in delivering this therapy. Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP) is preferred. Previous experience in a therapeutic setting working with children is advantageous but not essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise and connect with clients effectively. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
