Employee Relations Consultant - HR Advisor

Full time 37.5 hours/week

Role Overview
We have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced ER Consultant to be part of a newly formed ER Team supporting Care Services. Providing safe, secure and specialist care is what we do. We have over 130 care homes and retirement villages across the UK, offering a range of support options for residents both young and old. Using your employee relations knowledge, you will be providing effective, commercial advice and coaching managers across all levels.
Working across cases of varying complexity, you will proactively manage a case load around 60 allocated to you through our case management system, Service Now. You will assist managers in resolving their people issues effectively, independently ensuring timely and commercially focussed resolution to issues.
What you’ll do:
1. Work as part of a team managing a broad and varied complex caseload across all Bupa Care services locations in order to bring cases to an effective conclusion.
2. Ensure all cases are advised on and managed in line with company policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
3. Coach and influence managers of varying seniority across the business, building great relationships.
4. Escalate high risk cases or non-conformation of process in a timely manner and help to support the understanding of root causes.
5. Maintain and promote relationships whilst working collaboratively with the People business partner team to support the culture at Bupa Care Services.
6. Provide accurate and timely advice taking into account the business and commercial requirements on all aspects of employment law including Disciplinary/Grievance, Discrimination, Whistleblowing etc.
7. Provide seamless interface to other service providers such as Occupational Health, Employment Legal and Bupa’s income protection insurance provider.
8. Project work in collaboration with the wider People Business partner team.
What you’ll bring:
9. Significant and demonstrable experience managing multiple complex employee relations cases
10. CIPD level 5 or comparable business experience
11. Exposure to a wide range of Employee Relations issues
12. Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to provide concise and clear advice
13. Knowledge of current employment law
14. Working knowledge of ServiceNow or a comparable case management system would be advantageous
