This position translates the global and regional marketing strategies and product creations into local actions and tools. The final goal is to support the realisation of the commercial targets for the country cluster and to gain market share within different segments.
Key Responsbilites
Responsible for the trade marketing activities across the different channels, in line with the overall local (UK&I) growth strategy. Coordinating and implementing marketing activities (product launches, segment campaigns, digital activities, events, PR, budget) on a local level.
● Creates the strategy for the local marketing yearly plan for distribution, chain & artisan customers;
● Manages the local Gourmet marketing budget to maximise return-on-investment;
● Sets clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success;
● Tracks and evaluates performance using analytical tools and uses insights to optimise marketing plans;
● Plans and implements product launches, campaigns & other activations in collaboration with the global and regional marketing teams;
● Collaborates with sales, our chefs, Ambassadors, creatives and agencies to create and adapt local sales training & customer communication tools targeted to key distributors and chains to create demand for Barry Callebaut products;
● Manages all visual marketing tools for all Gourmet brands, including managing all catalogues, brochures, merchandise and event kit;
● Updates local sales toolkit with the latest product information, images and other assets;
● Develops annual trade marketing plans for key distributor customers from end-to-end, including advising on communication channel mix, briefing creative and delivery of all assets;
● Manages external agencies and freelancers to deliver campaigns and activations on time and within budget, challenging partners to provide innovative solutions;
● Collaborates with Global and Regional Digital Marketing to implement local digital activities;
● Organises the execution of trade events such as distributor fairs, chef gatherings, and supporting gourmet customer days;
● Offers local market insights by attending/presenting at sales meetings and regular interactions with customers;
● Manages relationships with professional associations, colleges/schools and sponsorships;
● Actively participates in setting the local business strategy.
About you
● Degree in Marketing/Economics/Business/Food Engineering or comparable is desired
● English (full proficiency)
● 3+ years of relevant working experience at manager level in brand management and/or trade marketing.
● Relevant experience in Food industry and/or FMCG
● Former experience/background in chocolate/cocoa/pastry is appreciated
● Strong business acumen: ability to translate consumer / customer insights into actionable plans
● Proven experience creating, managing and evaluating multiple successful marketing campaigns end-to-end
● Confident project management skills, managing multiple complex projects with autonomy
● Experience owning and managing annual marketing budgets and maximising ROI
● Digital marketing experience, including experience with Content Management Systems and email marketing
● Desirable: Copywriting skills, passion for food/chocolate
● Inspiring and confident communicator; able to build strong internal and customer relationships, including senior stakeholders
● Confident leader for cross functional group of peers
● Persistent in translating vision into action with hands-on mentality
● Positive growth mindset; able to deal with ambiguity
