Based at our busy manufacturing site in Appley Bridge, this is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and approachable HR Advisor to make a real impact. You’ll play a key role in supporting our employees, advising line managers, and driving forward HR initiatives that support a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees to advise on HR policies, practices, and procedures.
* Provide day to day support and advice to Stakeholders across both sites regarding Employee Relations related queries, escalating more complex issues to the wider HR team as required.
* Support the full employee lifecycle approach from onboarding right through to offboarding
* Manage and advise on grievance and disciplinary issues to satisfactory completion.
* Ensure employee welfare issues are addressed appropriately.
* Maintenance of HR database developing its activity and utilise the information to prepare HR data providing workforce analytics and insights.
* Responsible for organisation of relevant benefit schemes.
* Talent acquisition
* Provide support to the wider HR team in delivering the HR strategy.
* Occupational health referrals for site-based employees and the multi-site health surveillance.
* Ensure up to date knowledge of employment and case law.
* Proactively identify personal development requirements.
* Carry out such other reasonable duties as may be required.
Education and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 x GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C) including Maths & English.
* Level 5 Diploma Human Resource Management or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with trade unions.
* Strong employment law knowledge/experience.
* Employee relations and welfare experience.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities
* Strong organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
* Intermediate/advanced IT skills, Word, HR systems and Excel. Able to use Lookups and Pivot tables.
* Understanding of employee motivation.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to internal customer service; able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.
* Outstanding attention to detail, analytical skills.
* Excellent written communication, clarity of explanations.
* Problem solving skills.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
