Working to the Chief Nursing Officer, the post holder will provide leadership to the Organisation for a designated part of the Chief Nursing Officer's portfolio, working with the Care Organisation leadership teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Quality Improvement, Patient Experience and Engagement, along with Patient Safety to ensure service objectives are implemented throughout the organisation and that there is demonstrable continuous improvement in both patient safety and standards of care.

Main duties of the job
The Director of Nursing for Innovation and Continuous Clinical Improvement is accountable for the development of Innovation and Continuous Clinical Improvement and will also support the delivery of the professional nursing agenda.
They will have leadership and management of corporate services as designated from the Chief Nursing Officer's portfolio. They will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of the PSIRF agenda.

Essential
* Masters Degree or equivalent experience working at a senior nurse level.
* Evidence of significant post registration development professionally and managerially.
* Post graduate experience in quality improvement, change management, leadership, service re-design or safety.
Desirable
* Doctorate in health or change management related subject.
* Post-doctoral studies.

* First level registered Nurse.

* Substantial senior nursing and management experience.
* Substantial experience of working as a clinical practitioner with a strong professional knowledge base.
* Substantial experience of clinical governance, in particular, patient safety, patient experience and clinical quality.
* Experience of managing developing and motivating professional teams in clinically focused environments.
* Experience of working with local and national programmes and initiatives.
* A proven record of building partnerships and alliances both internal and external to the organisation.
* Ability to work with different disciplines across the health, education and social care settings.
* Evidence of managing conflict and deploying successful conflict resolution strategies.
* Evidence of securing funding to support organisational initiatives.
* Extensive knowledge of compliance framework and understanding of the Care Quality Commission requirements.
