Overview.
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met while providing exceptional service. Your mechanical knowledge will assist in accurately assisting customers.
Roles and Responsibilities.
1. Taking MOT, service and repair bookings over the phone and via email.
2. Managing diary to ensure we have the correct workload in each day.
3. Quoting up work by checking labor times and price of parts.
4. Building up technician’s jobs and ordering parts to arrive before the job is due to be worked on.
5. Welcoming customers dropping off keys.
6. Checking in and out courtesy vehicles.
7. Communicating with technicians and service manager to update customers on job progress. Seeking authorization during the day for any further repairs.
8. Liaising with MOT tester to ensure correct order of work, pricing up repairs and communicating with customer once the test is complete.
9. Helping the service manager keep on top of admin tasks and ensuring all jobs are closed and invoiced out.
10. Ensuring workload is carried forward in the diary and all vehicles in for repairs have time allocated to them.
11. Administrating payments and balancing the terminal at the end of each day.
12. Willingness to step in and help wherever needed, including basic rental department duties, car park management, delivering/collecting vehicles, and keeping the offices in a tidy presentable condition.

We are proud to be a local well-established company. Serving the community since 1982, Senior Garage Services is the largest independent workshop in Market Harborough. Large enough to cope yet small enough to care, the business is still run by the Senior family. In addition to our 8-bay workshop, we run a successful car sales site and a vehicle rental fleet of 250 vehicles. Our workshops are always incredibly busy with both retail and internal work.
About You.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ customer service experience within either a main dealership or independent garage workshop environment. You must have a basic understanding of the automotive industry and vehicle maintenance allowing you to communicate confidently with customers. The service manager will step in for more technical issues. Experience with Kerridge - Autoworks computer system is advantageous, as well as using technical databases like Autodata.
