Summary We have an opportunity for a passionate and caring person to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Supported Living service in Caerphilly borough, Pontllanfraith. We have a 33 hour, part-time position available. This service operates 24/7, requiring flexibility with shifts, including: Day shifts can vary from: 3:00pm – 10pm / 6:00am – 3:00 pm Sleep-in shifts: In addition to day shifts (additional £62.64 per shift) You will work as part of a rolling rota that ensures consistent support for the individuals in our care. A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as driving mobility vehicles is a key requirement to support those in our care. You would be providing the essential support to 2 outgoing and independent individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. The individuals we support are all different personalities with different likes and hobbies. You could be joining the people we support in going on leisurely walks in the countryside, dancing to music, watching films, shopping, gardening, going on holidays and going out and about in the community. The individuals at this service are very independent and enjoy developing their independence further. You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including: Medication administration Cooking skills and other household skills Some personal care needs Accessing the community and supporting to local groups Supporting with individuals’ hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking Being a team player and having good communication skills Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard Supporting individuals to budget finances Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence. Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role. Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working. Supporting Individuals with their individual needs. What skills and experience do you need? A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are; A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible. An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives.
