Main duties of the job:
1. Deliver expert breast imaging services, including mammography interpretation, ultrasound, and breast interventional procedures (biopsies, cyst aspirations, etc.).
2. Provide clinical leadership, support, and consultancy to the breast imaging team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals including radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, and pathologists.
3. Participate in and present breast imaging findings at multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
4. Ensure the highest standard of patient care, maintaining dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
5. Lead the development of breast imaging protocols and contribute to research, audit, and service development.
To be successful in applying for this role you will need:
Qualifications: HCPC registered with a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and Postgraduate qualifications in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast interventional techniques, and image interpretation.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in breast imaging, including clinical leadership, independent reporting, and participation in multidisciplinary meetings.
Skills: Ability to work under pressure, manage complex workloads, and demonstrate advanced communication and problem-solving skills. Commitment to continuous professional development is essential.
Desirable: Masters award in breast evaluation, teaching qualifications, and experience in clinical research.
