PHINIA is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Global Commodity Lead for Diesel Systems at our Aftermarket site in the UK. This person will be responsible for executing the commodity strategy which includes growing business with existing suppliers and developing and implementing the right-size supply base where necessary.
Duties
* Execute commodity strategy including growing business with partner suppliers and right-sizing supply base where necessary;
* Execute general sourcing requests focusing on efficiency and quality of suppliers;
* Partner with internal stakeholders within the respective regions and functions in the global sourcing decisions;
* Responsible for supplier management enhancing relationship/partnership within the regions and alignment with global functional teams;
* Act as a general window between suppliers and PHINIA for topics of sourcing activities and commercials;
* Apply and follow the sourcing processes through IQRF/RFQs/RFPs. Support to implement new processes, tools, policies, and techniques for better success;
* Apply cost model/cost comparison analysis during benchmarking processes;
* Deliver commodity targets and metrics on an enterprise level including material cost reductions;
* Support CSR initiatives related to suppliers diversity, sustainability, agility;
* Support sourcing strategy from packaging to supplier development and identify areas of improvement and cost-saving initiatives;
* Use advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, able to handle multiple priorities, work well under pressure and meet deadlines with quality output;
* Other tasks as assigned by superior.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or above with a major in engineering/supply chain preferred;
* 5+ years direct purchasing or related experience in the Automotive industry;
* Strong negotiating skills, purchase process skills, proficient in contract writing, understanding of Terms and Conditions of Purchase;
* Experience or demonstrated understanding in cost controls and/or VA/VE activities;
* Good English communication skills and ability to work with teams;
* Flexibility to work with various time zones;
* Willing to travel.
