Business Development Manager - Textiles/Fashion
Salary: £45,000- £55,000 + uncapped commission
Location: Hammersmith
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 4 days in office, Friday working from home
A global fashion uniform retailer is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Hammersmith. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in business development in B2B sales and lead generation to meet company targets and drive growth. We seek a result-driven professional adept at engaging with clients and closing deals, preferably with a background in textiles, fashion, or clothing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand existing and potential target markets to identify where prospect companies are in their buying cycle and build relationships to include the business in tenders.
2. Lead generation and pipeline development within the Sales & Marketing Team, focusing on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, Lead Forensics, industry events, and tender portals.
3. Manage and develop all sales pipeline opportunities through the design development and commercial stages.
4. Agree on new business contracts to deliver new brands and sales revenue for the client portfolio.
5. Manage a sales budget and profit margin for new clients, ensuring all related business activities meet commercial targets (Timescales; Quality; Pricing and Service requirements).
6. Execute the completion and response/submission of RFI's, RFPs, Tenders, and related sales documentation.
7. Conduct sales pitches and client presentations.
8. Negotiate and close commercial contracts to maximize margin/profit, with guidance from the Senior Sales Manager or Managing Director.
9. Provide highly responsive solutions across all touchpoints of the sales process, from initial communication to contract signing and client onboarding.
10. Work with the Senior Sales Manager to establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing an annual sales plan for new business, projecting expected sales volume and margin for new clients, new products, and services.
11. Assist the Senior Sales Manager in producing, analyzing, and reporting on relevant management and financial information for the sales department.
Experience and Skills Required:
1. 3-5 years of experience in a new business sales or business development role.
2. Proven track record in prospecting and achieving sales goals.
3. Experience in B2B sales.
4. A passion for fashion.
5. Strong interpersonal skills including composure, negotiation, and persuasive communication.
