Cardiff and Vale UHB Occupational Therapy Band 6 Rotation
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to join our expanding Band 6 rotation. This mixed rotation spans acute, rehabilitation and community, offering a range of experiences including medicine, surgery, vascular, acute neurosurgery, spinal, stroke and older persons rehabilitation services. Community rotations include Community Resource Team, Vale Local Authority plus the Posture and Mobility Service.
Main duties of the job
You will have the opportunity to work within a range of clinical services/settings and teams in hospital and community. You will deliver Occupational Therapy assessment/interventions in line with current guidance/evidence base. Induction/training and supervision will be available in each rotation and you will be encouraged to attend the Band 6 Development Forum, offering opportunities for networking plus focus on your development underpinned by the RCOT Pillars of Practice. Opportunities for development of supervisory skills will be available and engagement in service development/improvement projects and role promotion encouraged.
A seven-day service is delivered in some rotations. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Will hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent
* Holds professional registration as awarded by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of recent learning and continued professional development at a higher level

* Practice Educator Training Qualification
Experience

* Have sufficient experience that includes experience in at least 2 discrete service areas
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Managing a caseload
* Inter-professional and multi-agency team working
* Direct involvement with carers and families.

* Autonomous practitioner with self management skills
* Planning and prioritisation of workload
* Ability to support and supervise others (formally responsible for supervising Band 5 and Support Staff)
