Working as part of a small team, the Stores Operative will be responsible for managing stock in a stores/warehouse. He/She will maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy of all stock transactions as well as play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment within the warehouse. Responsibilities / Tasks Warehouse Receive incoming deliveries including loading/unloading using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet trucks. Check goods received against delivery notes/purchase orders/quality claims and update records in SAP. Inspect incoming goods for damage/defects & promptly report discrepancies in line with set procedures. Store goods in designated locations in the warehouse. Pick & pack orders according to pick lists/instructions. Prepare packages/shipments for dispatch including labelling, palletising and shrink-wrapping as necessary. Book collections with couriers/hauliers using their nominated platforms. Monitor stock levels & follow guidelines for timely replenishment. Assist with stock takes at regular intervals during the year. Operate warehouse equipment safely and report any maintenance or repair needs to management. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse, including sweeping, stacking pallets, and disposing of waste. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow company policies and procedures regarding Health & Safety, Quality Control, Security, and Regulatory Compliance. Administration Create POs to replenish stock as required. Manage delivery queries & questions from customers. Sort & distribute post to relevant parties. Maintain accurate records of all equipment on site. Update & maintain customer, supplier, employee contact lists. Assist Order Desk with general data entry. Your Profile / Qualifications Secondary School Education or equivalent. Previous experience in a stores/warehouse or logistics essential. Familiarity with inventory management software or systems such as SAP. Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & Teams. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification within designated timeframe. Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Good telephone manner. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team environment.
