We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Vetting Coordinator to oversee and manage the vetting and background check processes for employees, contractors, or clients. The Vetting Coordinator will ensure compliance with legal and company policies while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in all background screening activities.
This role is crucial in a highly sensitive environment, requiring expertise in vetting procedures across all areas of National Security Vetting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate the vetting and background check process for prospective employees, contractors, or clients.
* Verify candidate information, including identity verification, reference checks, employment history, criminal background checks, and other required screening procedures.
* Ensure all vetting activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders, recruitment teams, and external screening agencies to facilitate a smooth vetting process.
* Maintain detailed records of vetting activities and ensure data protection and confidentiality.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies or concerns arising from background checks in a timely and professional manner.
* Provide regular updates to relevant departments on the progress of vetting cases.
* Keep up to date with legal and regulatory changes affecting the vetting process.
* Assist with developing and improving vetting policies and procedures.
* Train and guide team members on best practices related to background screening and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in vetting, background screening, HR, compliance, or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of background check processes, compliance regulations, and legal considerations.
* High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Proficiency in using vetting software, HR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Experience in risk management, legal, or recruitment fields is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Security or compliance-related certifications.
* Experience working within government, defense, or high-security industries.
* Knowledge of UK security clearance legislation and regulatory requirements.
