Sussex Partnerships have an exciting opportunity for a consultant psychiatrist with an interest in digital transformation.
The post of Chief Medical Information Officer is a newly created post to support the digital transformation work at SPFT. We are looking for an enthusiastic medic to add to the digital team.
Main duties of the job
This post holder has a responsibility for working with the Chief Clinical Information Officer and digital clinical team to develop and deliver the digital strategy of the Trust. This will include being a key part of the implementation of the new electronic patient record system and electronic prescribing system.
The post holder will provide senior professional leadership to the Trust's and wider system digital transformation programme.
They will identify opportunities to transform practice for the benefit of patients and carers. They will provide expert professional advice, work with key stakeholders and ensure digital transformation is aligned with trust strategy.
Job responsibilities
The post holder's main responsibilities are:
* Responsible for leading the digital agenda and its application to medical practice.
* Responsible for providing a strong medical voice within the digital transformation programme, to ensure best and safest practice digital healthcare are delivered.
* Responsible for ensuring the right clinical stakeholder engagement in the digital transformation of quality patient-centered mental health and care services and providing strategic medical leadership to support their delivery.
* Contribute to strategic leadership of digitally enabled healthcare and contribute to the digital and data clinical team. Alongside the CCIO and digital clinical leads, they will work closely with the operational divisions to deliver digital transformation.
* Develop methodologies to measure and evaluate the outcome of clinical system implementations.
* Actively contribute to digital and medical governance committees and act as a clinical safety officer for specific projects and digital products (in accordance with digital clinical safety standards).
Person Specification
Essential and desirable
* Registered and licensed medical practitioner on the GMC specialist register and eligible for substantive consultant appointment.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior position within the NHS in England.
* Track record of delivering large scale change and knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and evidence in a multi-agency community setting.
* Evidence of effective influence over a wide range of stakeholders.
* Broad knowledge of new technologies and their potential for application in healthcare and understanding of the wider NHS Informatics agenda.
* NHS Digital Health Leadership Alumni (MSc or PGDip).
* Certified Clinical Safety Officer (NHSE training).
* Experience as clinical director or equivalent in a mental health trust.
* Able to express complicated, multi-stranded concepts in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing and in a multi-professional environment.
