A Session Facilitator assists parents/caregivers and whanau on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, parents are supported in their role as kaiako and children's needs are catered for, while role modelling Playcentre philosophy and current practices and fostering whanau-led culture, supporting emerging leadership and supporting parents in gaining the skills and tools to become more confident in running sessions themselves.
We are looking for Relievers to cover Session Facilitator absence in the Christchurch area, either day to day or longer term leave cover. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support planning and assessment for learning and positively support the Playcentre education programme. You will be a leader who encourages others to thrive; you will model Playcentre philosophy and good practice while supporting whanau to gain confidence to have a go themselves.

Days & hours:
This is a casual position, during school term time only.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have completed Playcentre L4 C-series OR have an equivalent ECE qualification or higher.
* OR hold a Primary Teaching qualification and have completed or be prepared to complete Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award.
* Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
Desirable skills and experience will include:
* A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy; Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whariki and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
* Great time management with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience at centre level communicating with both tamariki and adults;
* An ability to support and empower parents, whanau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.
* A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required; Confidence when speaking within a group.
* A passion for supporting Te Reo Maori and tikanga and engaging all whanau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.
