Our client were using a model of us supplying PAYE Umbrella contingent labour but are now moving to a sub-contractor contingent model whereby they are looking for individuals or companies to take up the work.
They are looking for individuals who can cover nationwide.
Basically to go to a town for a few weeks.
Hammer out the surveys and move on to next.
Expected to be a minimum of 6 -12 months ongoing and I have had some people who have been working there for their clients for last 4 years plus as a contractor.
Their requirements listed are: ALL TECHNICIANS MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPLY THEIR OWN SUITABLE CHAPTER 8 VEHICLE.
ALL VEHICLES MUST BE LESS THAN 8 YEARS OLD ALL VEHICLES MUST BE SUITABLE FOR THE WORK AND CAN EITHER BE A VAN, 4X4, SUV OR ESTATE CAR.
AS LONG AS IS LESS THAN 8 YEARS OLD AND CAN BE CHAPTER 8 COMPLIANT.

ALL TECHNICIANS MUST HOLD THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS SA001 OVERHEAD SAFETY SA002 UNDERGROUND SAFTEY S005 POLE SURVEY S006 DUCT SURVEY NRSWA UNIT 1 SIGNING LIGHTING AND GUARDING The Role: Working as a Self Employed Fibre Surveyor on a VM contract.
Other Surveying contracts will be coming up.
Vehicle: The vehicle will need to be chapter 8 compliant with a maximum age of this vehicle not greater than 6yrs.
This can be a suitable car / 4x4 or van but age is the must.
The contingent worker will need to complete OR-010-DDF Driver Declaration Form annually and provide evidence of class 1 business insurance for the vehicle and valid MOT certificate.
Equipment: All technicians must be able to supply their own survey kit such as GDU, Barriers, Signs, Pit Lifter, gate guards etc.
PPE: The client will provide a branded hi-vis vest and bomber jacket, all other PPE and uniform is to be provided by the contingent worker, (Safety boots must be EN ISO 20345:2011 S3).
Accreditations All contingent workers must hold relevant PIA accreditation listed above and will be responsible for maintaining these, including any and all associated costs.
All technicians must be have at least 2 years’ experience on surveying.
Mileage All mileage will be reimbursed at 25 pence per mile checked against AA Route planner except between site to site which are all local.
Accommodation Any overnight accommodation will be reimbursed at a £75 allowance per worker where applicable.
Would be booked and paid for in advance by the worker.
Expectation is stay away if more than 90 miles or 90 minutes from home address Again checked against AA route planner and hotel to be within 15 mile from site for mileage to be paid on top.
The work will be paid on a synthetic rate card.
Per THP and meterage.
Realistic earnings are uncapped meaning can earn up to over £2.5k a week at very top end.
They have work for other networks coming in at similar rates and conditions, plus other networks nationwide.
All paid weekly 1 week in arrears via umbrella or limited.
The role is outside of IR35.

- VMO2/CityFibre FTTH Infill Design Location: UK Nationwide Reports To: Project Manager Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our team, working on the VMO2/Cityfibre FTTH Infill Design project.
This role is crucial in capturing accurate on-site information and evaluating the existing Openreach PIA network to facilitate efficient and cost-effective network designs.
Key Responsibilities: · Site Surveys: Conduct comprehensive site surveys, meticulously capturing details about poles, chambers, existing infrastructure, and potential obstacles.
Adhering to the Best practice document.
· Photographic Documentation: Capture high-quality photographs of all relevant network elements, adhering to the Survey Photo Guidance.
· PIA Evaluation: Assess the suitability and capacity of Openreach PIA infrastructure for network integration.
· Data Collection and Reporting: Accurately record survey findings, including measurements, observations, and photographic evidence, in the designated systems.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to provide necessary information and address any queries or concerns.
· Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures while conducting surveys.
Including the use of the CheckedSafe system.
Full training will be provided.
Required Qualifications and Experience: · Minimum 2 years of experience in telecoms surveying or a related field.
· Strong understanding of FTTH network components and infrastructure.
· Proficiency in using survey equipment and data collection tools.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
· Full UK driving licence.
Relevant health and safety certifications .
Certification: Must hold all required certifications for Survey role.
· NRSWA 01 SLG · SA001/SA001A · SA002 · Emergency First Aid · S005 · S006 · SA007 (Desirable but not essential) · SA020 (Desirable but not essential) Desired Skills: · Previous experience of a surveyor’s role either on VMO2 network or CityFibre Network.
· Experience with QField or similar mapping software.
· Knowledge of Openreach PIA products and processes.
· Familiarity with VMO2 or CityFibre's design principles and architecture .
