At PGIM, You Can What you will do PGIM Fixed Income is recruiting for a Portfolio Manager to join the European Leveraged Finance team. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for working with the Senior Portfolio Managers to manage European leveraged finance mandates for total return performance through the application of quantitative and qualitative and other portfolio management skills in order to achieve superior long-term performance against appropriate benchmarks. What you can expect Working with the Senior Portfolio managers to: Manage high yield and bank loan portfolios to maximise returns to investors through proper underwriting, attention to proper diversification across issuers and industries and attention to the various requirements of the underlying client accounts. Monitor portfolio performance and trends for credit deterioration and impact of trades ensuring adherence to agreed internal policies and risk strategies. Regularly interact with credit analysts to get updates and recommendations and help to prioritise for the analysts based on the most pressing needs of the portfolios. Make recommendations together with credit analysts to credit committee. Source, negotiate and carry out financial, legal, risk and commercial due diligence on new and existing loans to ensure compliance with deal terms and internal policies ensuring relevant documentation is in place. Keep within trading authority limits as per internal guidelines. Report to Head of European Leveraged Finance on the performance and trends in the portfolios and the bank loan markets. Keep abreast and up to date with developments in the high yield bond and bank loan market strategy, as well as competitor offerings. Build trusted partner relationships with clients, investors and other key internal and external stakeholder. Expectation of taking more Sector and Portfolio management responsibilities through time. What you will bring Significant experience in the financial services sector. Credit research background – strong fundamental knowledge. Knowledge of relative value methodologies (e.g. market analysis, liquidity and trading analysis, secondary trade rationales, spread analysis, structure analysis and corporate curve analysis). Some proficiency in portfolio analytics (e.g. performance attribution, sector weightings, volatility, duration, convexity, spread measures, scenario analysis and term structure of interest rates). Ability to apply quantitative and qualitative methods to the investment process, and discern appropriate trade-offs between risk and return, liquidity and other characteristics in order to operate effectively. Good understanding of investment systems and qualitative portfolio management tools. Excellent creative, analytical skills. What will set you apart?
