THE JOB ROLE
The Head of People will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and practices that align with, and aid the accomplishment of, the company's business objectives and promote a positive employee experience.
Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, they will drive the delivery of the company's people strategy and present solutions that align with the culture of the business. As part of the Senior Leadership team, they will be proactive in building constructive relationships with other senior leaders and managers by working with them to improve business and employee effectiveness.
Please note this is a hybrid role and you will be required to visit our office in Leatherhead two days a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Support the Chief People and Culture Officer with developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
* Defining, developing, and implementing action plans for achieving and maintaining organisational goals and targets.
* Develop and maintain key relationships with other Senior Leaders, providing strategic advice and guidance to senior management on HR-related issues.
* Act as the primary contact for HR expertise across the business.
* Monitor HR trends, ensure that the company stays up to date with changes in employment law and implement changes accordingly.
* Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
* Manage all aspects of the People Framework and ensure all documentation is kept up to date.
* Work with senior leaders to drive engagement and monitor the wellbeing of employees. Manage employee benefit programmes and ensure competitive remuneration packages.
* Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with current UK employment laws and regulations.
* Foster a positive work environment and strong company culture, living the values and overseeing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
* Manage complex cases and coach managers as necessary to maximise efficient communication across the business.
* Manage the HR budget and report on key HR metrics, interpreting data and providing solutions.
* Influence organisational design and development initiatives to support company growth.
* Manage and grow the skills of the HR Coordinator.
ABOUT YOU
The following expertise and experience are required:
* Strong HR practical experience, with management responsibilities.
* Excellent knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practices, and regulations.
* Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strategic thinker with proven ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
* Experience with HRIS and data analytics.
* CIPD Chartered Member or Fellow status preferred.
