Job Description
We're seeking a Technical Trainer/Instructor to complement our team based in Faslane, Helensburgh. The role offers flexible working patterns including 9/75 or 4xFlex, which allows for either a 9 day working fortnight or a 4 day working week.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience in teaching, lecturing or training who wish to transition into a defence industry role within a world-renowned company contributing to the UK's national security.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in areas such as electronics, mechanics or physics, or a strong interest and appreciation for these subjects outside of teaching. We will provide additional training in the specific technical areas required to instruct on the workings and maintenance of the Royal Navy's Trident Strategic Weapon System (SWS).
We also welcome applications from individuals with direct SWS experience such as SWS Instructor, SWS Engineer, Weapons Engineer or similar.
Main Responsibilities:
* Delivering technical training as a fully integrated member of our instructor team in support of the statement of training requirement.
* Mentoring trainees to ensure the highest standard of training output.
* Supporting practical and theory training elements for the Royal Navy and industry partners in the Trident Training Facility.
* Reviewing training documentation to support the Training Delivery Associate Manager.
* Working shifts to support the Royal Navy's Training and Trident Engineering Support Trainer Programmes.
* Maintaining a working knowledge of approved documentation, health and safety legislation, acceptance standards and directives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience as an Instructor or Technical Trainer with a background in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Electronics or Physics.
* Instructional delivery experience.
* Excellent cooperation, organisational and workload management skills.
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability to working shifts.
* Motivation, enthusiasm, reliability, initiative and ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
* SWS experience.
