Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics & Neonates
Full Time 10 PAs (1 year fixed term)
We are looking for a dynamic Specialty Doctor to join our Paediatric and Neonatal team at Kingston Hospital.

You will be joining a team providing consultant led care in a busy DGH with a substantial NNU. The post enables the provision of consultant led care and supervision for junior and nursing staff 24 hours per day 7 days a week; providing excellent paediatric care in line with the London Quality Standards.
Main duties of the job
1. General paediatric and neonatal inpatient and OPD management.
2. Collaborative working with general paediatrics and neonates to meet the demands of the service.
3. To promote close working links with all providers of services for children, particularly within local primary care and the Southwest London Network.
4. To manage a flexible approach to service provision, adapting practice and provision to meet changing needs.
5. To work with consultant colleagues, other medical colleagues and junior doctors, professional and nursing colleagues and local managers to ensure the efficient and effective running of the service.
About us
Duties on middle grade rota with on-calls on Paediatric and neonatal level 2 unit.
Supervision of and support for junior trainees.
Collaborative working with all areas of paediatrics extending to ED.
Outpatient work load and running rapid referral clinics and opportunity to develop on specialty interest.
Job responsibilities
1. To comply with the Trusts clinical governance policy and participate in relevant multidisciplinary and clinical audit projects. The department is actively involved in both national and local level audit.
2. To undertake the clinical risk management and clinical governance activities of the department and trust.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS Full GMC Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
* MRCPCH or equivalent
* APLS
* NLS
* Safeguarding level 3
* Experience in Paediatrics more than 2 years
* Qualification in Education
Clinical Experience
* Providing direct clinical care.
* Active participation in clinical audit.
* Experience in developing effective and collaborative working relationships.
* Comprehensive clinical experience in General Paediatrics.
* If UK trained, must have minimum of 2 years training/experience in General Paediatrics.
* Experience in managing clinic work load.
Specific Additional Skills
* Evidence of working within a multiagency team.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Trust vision, values, strategic objectives and key work programmes.
* Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the professional code of conduct and guidance issued by the GMC and adhere to this.
Management Skills
* Awareness and understanding of clinical governance processes.
* Involvement in management appropriate to experience.
* Experience of working in MDT.
* IT skills of presentation.
* Specific management training course or qualification.
Experience in Training, Audit and Research
