We are currently looking for a passionate and committed Humanities Teacher to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and challenge students in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies, while developing their critical thinking and analytical skills.
Job Description:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in one or more of the humanities subjects (History, Geography, Religious Studies). You will play a key role in sparking students' interest in the world around them, helping them develop an understanding of societal issues, historical events, and geographical phenomena. You will also assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative lessons in History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies.
2. Foster an environment where students can critically engage with key issues and develop an understanding of their cultural, social, and historical contexts.
3. Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all students, ensuring inclusion and support for all.
4. Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
5. Encourage active participation and discussion, helping students develop their research, writing, and analytical skills.
6. Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity and independent learning.
7. Collaborate with colleagues in the humanities department to share resources and ideas, ensuring a cohesive curriculum.
8. Participate in extracurricular activities, parent evenings, and whole-school events as required.

1. A passion for the humanities and a commitment to inspiring students.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
3. Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
4. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
5. Knowledge of the national curriculum and examination requirements for GCSE and A-Level humanities subjects.
6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also showing initiative and independence.
7. An understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to student welfare.
Qualifications:
1. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
2. A degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies, etc.).
3. Experience teaching humanities subjects at secondary level is desirable but not essential.
4. A solid understanding of the GCSE and A-Level curricula is beneficial.
