Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
2. Provide insightful financial reports and commentary to support senior management in strategic decision-making.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
1. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategy.
2. Monitor financial performance and provide detailed analysis of variances against budget and prior periods.
4. Cost Control & Analysis:
1. Analyse and report on cost structures, identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements.
2. Provide financial insight into various departments to help manage and reduce costs.
3. Assist in financial planning and support the business in long-term strategic financial decisions.
4. Contribute to the evaluation of business investments and financial planning.
5. Month-End Close:
1. Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
2. Ensure all accounting entries are compliant with internal and external financial regulations.
6. Internal & External Stakeholder Collaboration:
1. Work closely with other departments to ensure financial performance is aligned with business goals.
2. Support audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring the smooth completion of the audit process.
3. Undertake financial analysis and reporting for ad-hoc projects as required by senior management.
Key Requirements:
1. Qualifications & Experience:
1. A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in a management accountant or similar role, ideally within a fast-paced or manufacturing environment.
3. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills are an advantage).
