Facility Supervisor
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £26,873 - £28,770 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.

The Role
An opportunity exists for a suitable individual to work within the Facility Services Division of City Operations, Neighbourhoods and Regulatory Services Directorate as a Facility Supervisor at The Primary School.
37 hours per week (Split Shift)
1. 6.30-10.30 & 14.30-18.00 Monday to Thursday
2. 6.30-10.00 & 14.30-18.00 Friday
To succeed in this role, it is essential that you must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role.
You will be responsible for the security of the premises, setting alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building, as well as a range of porterage duties. There will be a responsibility for the supervision of cleaning staff.
You will be expected to manage your own time and deal with varying workloads, including the cleaning of a defined area equating to fifteen hours per week.
Flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar (e.g., parents' evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas, and summer fairs) will be required, which will be arranged at the start of the academic year. You may also be expected to undertake lettings for the school when required.

* Has good customer service skills.
* Has good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with problems on site.
* Has knowledge of cleaning standards with the ability to undertake cleaning tasks.
* Is capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying of equipment, materials, furniture and climbing ladders.
* Has excellent organisational skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
* Has good spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
* Has experience of management/supervision of staff.
* Has knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and how to apply them in the workplace.
* Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines.
