Linda Manor Extended Care offers high-quality short-term rehabilitation, compassionate long-term care, and specialized dementia care for when care needs progress beyond assisted living.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality nursing care to residents and to supervise the day-to-day activities of nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and policies of this organization.
Essential Job Functions:

1. Supervise nursing care in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care.
2. Ensure all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with written policies and procedures established by this organization.
3. Assure the implementation of resident care plans.
4. Conduct assessments and develop care plans appropriate for residents admitted to the facility.
5. Communicate pertinent information and interpret facility policies to residents, staff, families, and visitors.
6. Keep the Director of Nursing informed of any changes in resident condition.
7. Review, investigate, and document all incidents/accidents properly.
8. Coordinate orientation for new nursing staff.
9. Implement progressive discipline when appropriate.
10. Evaluate emergency situations and take appropriate action.
11. Participate in facility surveys made by authorized agencies.
12. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
13. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting as necessary.
14. Receive phone orders from physicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form.
15. Chart all reports of accidents/incidents involving residents and follow established procedures.
16. Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
17. Verify the identity of the resident before administering medication/treatment.
18. Ensure adequate medications, supplies, and equipment are available; report needs to the Director of Nursing.
19. Ensure narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
20. Notify the Director of Nursing of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
21. Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with safety and infection control policies and procedures.
22. Attend and participate in mandatory and scheduled training and educational classes to maintain current certification as a Nursing Assistant.

Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
2. Current Massachusetts nursing license as an RN/LPN.
3. Previous nursing experience in a supervisory role preferred.
4. CPR/BLS/AED and IV certification required.
Preferred Education:
1. Associates or better in Nursing.
2. Bachelors or better in Nursing.
3. Technical/other training or better in Nursing.
