We are looking for a proactive HR Assistant to join our UK People & Culture Team on a Part Time, Fixed Term basis.
About the role
As a People & Culture Assistant, you are a core part of the UK People & Culture team. You know our systems well and can put your finger on information when needed. You are responsive and can answer our people’s questions in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. You’ll need to be engaged and proactive when it comes to our systems and processes with a focus on continuous improvement. You will be energised by problem solving and passionate about developing long term solutions. This is a very busy role so we need somebody who thrives in a super busy environment and can get their head down to work through workload quickly. Ideally you will have some previous experience of offering advice on topics such as absence, flexible working requests and less complex performance matters. You will thrive off getting involved in the work around you and will enjoy learning and developing yourself at any opportunity. You will be the point of contact for our people queries and our people processes such as;
* Be responsible for maintaining all the queries that come into our HR inboxes and ticketing systems. This requires multi-tasking ability and a natural flare for working at pace as we have multiple communication channels and busy systems.
* You will be a super user of all of our systems; self-learning will be key to this and developing your knowledge on the job.
* Providing data to your colleagues, people leaders and the wider People & Culture team as required.
* Overseeing the UK’s absence processes including maternity, paternity and other forms of leave. Managing these processes and communicating proactively with our People Managers and colleagues.
* Providing 1st line HR support to all of our UK based colleagues for less complex queries.
* Being a key member of our organisation, with a desire to meet all of our colleagues and get to know them – you will be visible and present.
* Process improvement and supporting the team by working on key projects will be part of the role.
About You
In the People and Culture team we are collaborative and work together towards common goals and outcomes. Our team needs to be leading the way when it comes to supporting our employee lifecycle, data management and being involved in every team to really support the growth of our talent. In this role, we need somebody with great intuition, thrives in a busy environment and has excellent relationship building and people skills. You will be a natural problem solver – being able to truly get to the bottom of an issue and proactively solve it.
We want you to be brave and dare to challenge the status quo, but also be empathetic and caring as kindness is at the heart of what we do.
* You’ll be adaptable and able to pivot quickly as the business continues to grow and evolve.
* Demonstrable experience of working in a very busy HR role (perhaps within a busy retail or global business), managing stakeholders with appropriate behaviours.
* Prior knowledge of HR processes and systems, and/or business systems.
* Attention to detail, time management and working on your own initiative will be essential.
* Able to build positive and effective relationships.
* Experience in a fast-paced, moving environment such as retail, tech growth, PE/VC backed organisations – this role is buzzy, requires fast communication and ability to pivot daily.
* Able to travel to our UK offices in London, Manchester and Edinburgh when and if required.
This is a Part Time (4 days per week), Fixed Term contract for an initial 3 month period with the possibility of extension.
