Your responsibilities
The Valuation team is responsible for the appraisal process for major investments into UK energy assets.
The successful candidate will undertake the typical tasks as outlined below:
1. Support the team in building the business case for investment decisions, challenging the underlying assumptions through stakeholder engagement and developing financial models.
2. Review the key value drivers that influence the profitability of projects in energy markets.
3. Undertake scenario analysis and help identify the impact of risks and opportunities on valuation metrics.
4. Support, organise, and prepare presentations of financial modelling results to internal stakeholders.
5. Assist in the development of standardisation of modelling tools and implement recommendations on best practice.
6. Gain invaluable experience by modelling several investment cases, attending stakeholder meetings, and presenting the results.
7. Training and support will be provided to achieve the above tasks.
Your profile
Essential
1. Current students who are required to undertake a year in industry as part of their degree programme.
2. This placement will suit students studying Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering and Management, or other relevant degrees.
3. The role will be based in the Birmingham office with occasional trips to our Head Office in Dusseldorf.
4. Problem-solving skills and an open-minded, positive attitude.
Desirable:
1. Some knowledge of the energy industry is desirable but not essential.
2. Proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint).
