Main duties of the job
To competently carry out full consultations with patients in orderto establish base line data.
To undertake a comprehensiveassessment of patients including those with diverse or complexpresentations/multi[1]pathologies in orderto identify their problems and needs and ensure that patients medical,psychological, social environmental and cultural factors are taken intoaccount.
Using clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques: -identify the problem/diagnose - Set appropriate treatment aims and objectivesin negotiation with the patient. - Competently plan and carry out realisticprogrammes of treatment from a range of specialised therapeutic options foreach patient using evidence based practice. - Relate findings to presentingpathology
To be able to give appropriate advice to ensure patientsunderstanding, co-operation, compliance and consent.
To be able to adapt style of communication if the patient hascommunication cognitive or other problems that may create a barrier tocommunication affecting ultimate treatment outcomes.
To facilitate safe andtimely patient discharge and to determine outcome of podiatry management of thepatient.
To plan and prioritise ownworkload and that of more junior staff.

1. Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
2. Recognised BSc Honours degree in podiatry or equivalent

3. Previous postgraduate clinical experience of managing high risk podiatry patients
4. Specialist knowledge of podiatry assessment and treatment technique
5. Demonstrate complex dexterity and therapeutic handling skills Ability to motivate and negotiate to encourage reluctant and challenging patients
