Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Manager to join our team. This role involves engaging with new and existing customers, conducting waste audits, and providing tailored quotations to meet their needs. You will play a vital role in building relationships, managing customer issues, and driving new business opportunities in the South-West.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Handle customer enquiries, perform waste audits, and deliver quotations.
2. Build and maintain relationships with prospects and existing customers.
3. Manage the sales pipeline, generating leads and updating monthly conversion reports.
4. Develop strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities.
5. Review customer metrics and provide insights for marketing opportunities.
6. Collaborate with the commercial team, depot managers, and customer care account managers to enhance customer experience.
7. Support customer reporting and manage administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development within the recycling or waste management industry.
2. Excellent customer care and communication skills.
3. Strong organizational abilities and a “can do” work ethic.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), SharePoint, and Adobe (e-sign).
5. Understanding of relevant regulations and a valid driving license.
6. Digital marketing skills (Mailchimp, social media) are a plus.

Salary: £40k – £45k
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent – Monday to Friday, hours 9am to 5.30pm (30 mins lunch), Hours per week 40hrs. Holidays 29 days (including public holidays).

Location: Based at Marston Magna HQ depot majority of the time, & other depots - Bristol, Bridgwater, Appledore depots & remote working as required, supporting the commercial team with customer site meetings & business meetings throughout the Southwest.
