Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to work with primary-aged children in Deptford. This role is perfect for someone with experience in SEN settings who can also provide transportation for pupils using their own vehicle. Having business insurance is a requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer tailored, one-on-one, and group support to SEN primary pupils, promoting their educational and personal development.
2. Assist teachers with the preparation and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
3. Provide safe and reliable transportation for students to and from school or off-site activities.
4. Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress and liaise with teaching staff and parents as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN or primary setting.
2. Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
3. Business insurance for transporting students (mandatory).
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to manage and respond to challenging behaviors with patience and empathy.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
