We are seeking a Technical Design Coordinator to join our expanding team. You will assist the project team with design, construction, planning and building regulation matters, ensuring the successful completion of projects. This role involves liaising with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, local authorities and subcontractors to ensure all designs and construction are up to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction:
Assist the project team in resolving design and construction issues.
Coordinate planning conditions ,building control and structural warranty compliance on projects.
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit building warranty applications (LABC/NHBC) for new dwellings.
Assist in securing agreements (Section 38, 104,106 and SAB) for new developments.
Ensure the successful installation of electric, water, gas, and BT services for projects.
Compile and submit evidence to BREEAM and Code Assessors for relevant projects.
Support site managers to ensure projects meet QUENSH standards, budget, and timeline.
Experience with Construction Project Software and advantage (i.e. House Building Pro)
CDM (Construction Design and Management):
Assist in compiling health and safety files and O&M documentation.
Assist in collating As-Built drawings (and production if necessary) for contract completion.
Design:
Act as the lead contact for clients during the design phase of new projects.
Review designs for buildability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulations.
Develop and standardise construction methods on projects.
Prepare feasibility designs and hand-drawn or AutoCAD drawings for sites/buildings.
Submit planning and building regulations applications as necessary.
Skills & Experience we are looking for:
Technical Designer Skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of materials and construction
Creative thinking
AutoCAD skills and knowledge of Planning and building regulations.
Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry, particularly in design coordination
Experience and knowledge of WHQR, DQR and HA Clients ERDs an advantage
Technical Designer Requirements
A Bachelor's degree or HND in a related field such as Construction Management, engineering, design, or architecture
Knowledge in AutoCAD, 2D, 3D Revit or other 3D modelling software
