About the opportunity:
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
As a result of this increasing demand for our services we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Cumbria.
Responsibilities:
1. Delivering design work, inspections and construction site support on a major infrastructure project.
2. Concept and Feasibility studies for multi discipline design projects.
3. Analysis and Design using engineering software such as STAAD, Tekla and TEDDS as well as producing hand calculations.
4. Preparation of Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, Inter discipline design coordination and supervision.
5. Assisting and mentoring team members to promote their technical and professional development.
Here's What You'll Need:
6. A degree qualified (BEng or MEng), Civil / Structural Engineer
7. Experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork
8. Knowledge of seismic design requirements for waste storage / processing plant
9. Knowledge and use of BIM packages
10. Experience in preparation of deliverables for early stage constructability assessments and HAZOPs
11. Knowledge of structural aspects of underground/ above ground services diversions
