At Tettenhall Wood School, we consistently strive to be an outstanding school that is a place of opportunity for all our pupils to achieve the best of their abilities and make a valued contribution to society. We do this through aspirational teaching, ensuring outstanding outcomes for each individual.
The school is preparing for an exciting new chapter and is seeking to appoint a number of outstanding Teaching Assistants. We are looking for the best. We want individuals with a strong mindset, who want to develop. In return, you will be in a school which will help you achieve, and progress in your career e.g., this year we have already created several new internal roles, including an Unqualified Teacher, HLTAs and Grade 5 Teaching Assistants. This gives clear progression pathways for all staff.
For us, the underlying ability and attitude are more important than experience to make a great Teaching Assistant. If you have not worked in education before, then please don’t be put off. We can provide all of the specialist training you need, but we can't train you to be kind, to have initiative, to be friendly, to be resilient, and to be patient, and those are essential qualities for this work. We realise that the need to improve children’s lives in all aspects, especially academic, requires unique individuals, which is precisely what we are looking for – unique individuals to help with the school’s improvement journey.
We are seeking to appoint Grade 4 Teaching Assistants. The role will involve supporting the class Teachers with the preparation of resources for lessons, supporting pupils during lessons, and supporting the care needs and well-being of pupils throughout the school day.
The role will ideally suit people who wish to work in a vibrant and challenging SEND environment.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
* flexibility
* their ability to work using own initiative, and work effectively as part of a team
* how they communicate clearly and effectively with pupils and colleagues
* the desire to take ownership of tasks
* the passion and commitment to support children and young people with Special Needs
Tettenhall Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and 2 positive references from your current and previous employment, as well as a health screen check. You will be expected to provide proof of ID and the right to work in the UK and copies of all qualifications listed on your application.
