We are looking for a well-organised, driven individual with a keen eye for detail and an interest in fashion and sport. This role will involve creating innovative, trend-driven, and technically proficient products for both men's and women's collections.
The Accessories Product Developer will be responsible for product development and coordinating the production of accessories including bags, headwear, knit, and lounge across the group of brands. You will work directly with the sales teams, design teams, factories, and suppliers to support the product journey from design and development through to sampling and final production.
Main Responsibilities will Include:
* Develop products and coordinate production for all collections;
* Work closely with the accessories designer;
* Create line lists and price lists;
* Negotiate with factories for FOBs and keep track of pricing from suppliers;
* Ensure all samples are developed to targeted deadlines with the desired aesthetic;
* Responsible for Prototypes, SMS, and Pre-Production/QR requests and follow-up to factories;
* Research materials, components, construction techniques, and finishes;
* Carry out visual research, sketches, Tech Packs, and mock-ups/salpas as required for product development;
* Accountable for the accuracy of Tech Packs and BOMs sent out to factories;
* Provide clarity on current sampling, shipment status, raw material stock, and budget status;
* Keep the WIP report updated;
* Maintain the Shipment Tracker file;
* Communicate timeline conflicts, quality risks, changes, and action items daily;
* Identify and communicate any quality control concerns and implement processes to ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards;
* Develop effective working relationships with suppliers and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, ensuring information flows smoothly;
* Manage all day-to-day communication with factories and suppliers;
* Schedule fitting and production meetings to ensure milestones are met;
* Manage showroom samples;
* Travel to factories and fairs if needed;
* Coordinate show preparation.
Person Specifications:
* A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role;
* Technical knowledge of accessories products, materials, construction techniques, and finishes;
* Experience visiting suppliers in the Far East or Europe;
* A keen eye for detail and quality;
* Excellent organisational skills;
* Solution-oriented - problem solver, flexible, adaptable, and resilient;
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines;
* Experience working closely with production and international factories;
* Strong IT skills including Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
