Are you Seeking a new challenge? We have positions available up to 33 hours per week to join our Friendly team of34 phlebotomists. We work in York Hospital, as well as in our community clinics at LNER Stadium Vanguard Centre, Selby War Memorial, Tadcaster Medical Centre and Sherburn medical Centre.
We require a enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Could you help provide a high quality, timely and effective phlebotomy service to patients? Are you flexible and able to work all of our service locations and hours on a rota basis. If so we would welcome your application.
Please note: Remote interviews are not available on this occasion. Interviews for this position are held face to face, and by applying you are confirming that you are able to attend in person at our York Hospital site.

• To collect blood samples from patients through venepuncture as requested by clinicians and other appropriately authorised doctors and health professionals.
• To collect blood samples safely with due respect to the dignity of patients, and the needs of other clinical services.
• To ensure blood samples are collected in appropriate containers, labelled correctly, and prepared and dispatched to relevant laboratory sections in a timely and correct manner.
• To contribute to the provision of an efficient, high quality service and ensure that proficiency and competence and personal and professional standards of that group are maintained.
• To work closely with Medical, Nursing, and Laboratory staff to provide a rapid blood collection service, which is sensitive to service requirements on individual Wards, OPD or GP practices as appropriate.
• To provide high quality, timely and effective phlebotomy services to patients on one or more Floors at York Hospital or other designated areas as directed by the Phlebotomy Manager
• To take part in a weekend and bank holiday rota to maintain phlebotomy services across the Trust.
This role is not eligible for Tier 2 sponsorship
