Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to our Private Client Solicitor in Wills, Trust and Probate. This role requires excellent time management skills, proficiency in IT and case management software, and a strong ability to handle various tasks efficiently.
Duties
1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to our head of Private Client, Wills and Trusts, including managing schedules and appointments.
2. Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Conduct audio typing for dictations and transcribe legal documents accurately.
4. Maintain organised filing systems for both physical and electronic documents, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
5. Manage incoming communications via phone, email, and post, directing queries to the appropriate personnel (outside of Private Client).
6. Assist in the preparation of case files for client meetings (either in office or off-site) and ensuring clarity in estate files.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred.
2. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential. We use SOS as our Case Management System.
3. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
4. Effective time management skills to prioritise workload efficiently.
5. Familiarity with audio typing techniques is advantageous.
6. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong interpersonal skills.
Job Details
We are looking for someone to cover our current colleague who is off sick. The role will run for about a month. If you feel like you are suitable but don't have any experience in SOS, please do give us a call; we are happy to provide training as we go along.
Our team is friendly and helpful, and the work is varied and interesting. The days don't drag here!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Graduate
Pay: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 37.5 per week
